In the Words of the Owner:

Before we moved to Minnesota in January, 2004, we had never even visited this state. We researched the schools so we knew that Minnesota ranked the highest in the nation. This was extremely important to us because we had two young daughters who were a little apprehensive about moving to a new state. The decision was very simple and abundantly clear – Rosemount was home.

Rosemount’s small town atmosphere offers intimate communities, a rich culture, and proud traditions. The schools are absolutely wonderful; our daughters attend Rosemount Elementary and Rosemount Middle School. The Rosemount “Main Street” area reminded us of our home in Colorado with its local shops and trades, as well as festivals, parks, and plentiful recreation.

We specifically chose this lot because it backed to the farmland. We new that any development toward the East would be years away, so the privacy and the views would remain unspoiled for a long time. And when the area was finally developed, it would offer increased home values as well as additional neighborhood amenities. It was a win-win situation.

We love our home, more so than any other home we have purchased or built. Because we also built this home, we were able to add a few extra comforts that would make this a truly family-friendly home. We designed the formal dining room with the custom arches and columns to create a space where we can celebrate holidays with visiting family and friends, or simple have a dress-up dinner just for fun. The arches are echoed over the fireplace in the great room to create a sense of continuity. The great room is our primary gathering place where we share family meals around the table and bake birthday cakes on the island. Upstairs is the “bonus room” which we added as a guest bedroom. It also serves as a theater room and office space.

But none of this compares to our yard and our neighborhood. Our favorite aspect of this home is spending time outside in our yard with our children and neighbors. The neighborhood is filled with children of all ages, which is a bonus, since we have added a son to our family while we have lived here. Whether we are enjoying a warm westerly breeze from the front porch as we watch the neighborhood emerging in the spring after a long winter’s rest, or enjoying a glass of wine or a beer on the back patio in the evening where the cool shade of the house offers relief from the hot setting summer sun. We enjoy our backyard all year around – building snowmen, gazing at the northern lights, catching fireflies, counting the shooting stars as they cross the Milky Way, playing ball, exploring the corn fields (don’t tell the farmer), or camping near the fire pit.

We designed the fire pit with specific attention to the atmosphere it creates which reminds us of our Colorado home. It has become a gathering place for spontaneous bonfires with neighbors, or intimate settings with loved ones. Be sure to stock up on chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows – s’mores taste best around a campfire. Our backyard has created many new memories for our children and it has allowed us to reminisce many of our own. Fond memories of when we grew up with our parents, siblings, and neighbors. Shared memories that our children and our family will cherish forever.

We know you will love this home as much as we have.
