 Meet The Team 

Steve Pemberton
Steve Pemberton moved to Minnesota with his wife, Pam, in 1978 at the age of 22. Immediately upon settling, Steve and Pam began their meteoric Real Estate careers. Within a few months, they were the top producers in their office after starting with no more than a telephone book. After having their first child, Pam elected to remain at home, with Steve continuing to sell at a record pace.

Today, Steve and Pam have four boys that keep them very active with their many activities. Steve spent many years coaching his boys in baseball and hockey.He is active in junior golf and was the coordinator for the 2002 PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club. His role was to place the world’s top golf professionals in private housing for the championship.

Steve has accomplished and achieved nearly every Real Estate sales award given by Coldwell Banker Burnet Realty. During his career, he has been named Number One in sales in Minnesota multiple times and Number One in the 13 Midwestern state region; an area which included 7,500 salespeople. This was the first time a Realtor from Minnesota won this prestigious award and, in 1998, he was named one of The Top Ten Realtors in the U.S. for Coldwell Banker out of 30,000 sales professionals.

Steve also holds several professional designations including:Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI), Accredited Relocation Counselor (ARC), and is a former Certified Real Estate Appraiser (CREA).

Steve continues to sell at a record pace with nearly $40 million in annual sales.His listings sell for more than 2.2% of the board average and in 24 days less time than the average. Andrew Morgan -
Associate Partner
Andrew Morgan is a lifelong resident of Apple Valley and is a graduate of Apple Valley High School. While attending Apple Valley High School, Andrew excelled in the classroom, on the hockey rink, and on the golf course (All Conference hockey and golf). Andrew was a standout Defenseman and was considered an intimidating force to his rival teams. Whether it was scoring from the blue line or breaking par, Andrew was most concerned about helping his teams.

After graduating from Apple Valley High School, Andrew attended Mankato State University and majored in business law. Today, Andrew is aligned with two of the most productive and powerful names in real estate – Steve Pemberton and Coldwell Banker.

Teamwork doesn’t stop with athletics or real estate.Andrew is very involved in community and civic organizations, as well, and does volunteer work for “True Understanding Friends”, “Special Olympics”, and “The Autism Society.”

Today, Andrew is a licensed Realtor in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. Robert Martin -
Associate Partner
Bob Martin grew up in Apple Valley and Lakeville, and is a 1988 graduate of Apple Valley High School. He currently resides in Minneapolis, but plans on moving back to Dakota County in the near future. Bob has over seven years of sales experience. He and his team have helped thousands of families accomplish their real estate goals with the purchase and sale of their homes.

While growing up, Bob took a liking to the sport of basketball; this sport taught him a lot about teamwork, discipline, and the benefits of hard work, attributes that have now become the cornerstone of Bob’s daily regimen. As a high school player, Bob surpassed even his own goals when he received a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Minnesota.
While working toward his undergraduate degree Bob earned four “letters” playing basketball, and eventually capitalized on the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play basketball at the professional level. Bob worked hard and become a player in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and played against some of the game’s greats.

Bob brings knowledge, energy, and enthusiasm to one of the most productive and time honored real estate teams in the Midwest, Coldwell Banker and The Pemberton Group. Being a team player both on and off the court is second nature for Bob, and today Bob is again associated with some of the greats in his profession-Real Estate.

He is very accessible and has built his business by earning the trust and respect of not only numerous clients but also his peers. Gary Leech -
Associate Partner
Gary is a native Minnesotan born and raised in the Excelsior/Lake Minnetonka area. Gary met his wife Sue while employed as an Air Traffic Controller at the Minneapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center in Farmington. They were married in 1979. Music has played a very large part of Gary’s life; as he played drums in a successful local rock and roll band that recorded several records and a CD. Some of his other interests include baseball, football and flying. Gary also worked as an extra in numerous movies including "Bullet" and "Purple Rain."

Gary attended College in the San Francisco area where he took flying lessons and obtained the first of several pilot’s licenses. He then moved back to Minnesota and attended college at the University of Minnesota and Mankato State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree. In 1982 Gary joined Coldwell Banker in the Burnsville office where he met Steve Pemberton. They worked together handling numerous transactions. He earned many awards as one of Coldwell Banker’s Top Salespeople over the next several years.
Sue, Gary’s wife, was relocated to Illinois, North Dakota, back to Illinois and once again home to Minnesota during the past 18 years. Gary continued his success in real estate in both North Dakota and Illinois. We are happy to have him back with The Steve Pemberton Team as his experience and knowledge will be an asset to us as well as to our customers.

Gary is especially happy to be back after his numerous relocations, and more importantly the Pemberton Group and Coldwell Banker are honored to have Gary back as one of the cornerstone’s of our successful team.


Shari Swenson -
Director of Marketing
Shari grew up in northern Minnesota and now lives in Rosemount with her 2-year-old daughter Kama; they enjoy our area parks, the zoo, and early childhood educational programs throughout Dakota County.

Shari brings to the Pemberton Group over ten years of experience in office management and customer service. Shari’s technology rich background allows her to provide seamless up to date research on market trends, create and publish brochures and mailings, and she is able to input our market sensitive materials relative to the numerous web sites utilized by the Pemberton Group. Our clients are always at the forefront of the most sophisticated real estate internet marketing available anywhere locally, regionally and in the United States.
Shari’s numerous talents continue with over 10 years as an executive assistant, office administrator, market researcher, office policy and procedures manager and customer service manager. Shari’s organizational skills are legendary, and her ability to do the most productive thing at any given moment makes her a tremendous asset for one of the most cohesive and productive real estate teams in the country.
